Dearest readers, I had an amazing time traveling for a few days and I'll be home tomorrow. Needless to say, I couldn't be more excited. Over the last year, I nearly got over the travel bug and have found new sources of happiness and enjoyment right here in Toronto, the most cosmopolitan place around :) I guess that my increased efforts on Facebook and Instagram, as well as catching up with old friends, have really contributed to my feeling this way. With a more active social media and offline socialization, however, comes the need for a lot more messaging back and forth than usual (as if the usual wasn't bad enough haha). Sometimes, some of these messages you'd rather not have saved. You know, things you text that you later prefer you just said in confidence without any physical evidence of you having said that ;) Oh, the good old days and how I miss them.
So, what is the deal with companies being so late in the game to bring us privacy and no trace left of messaging content right after it's viewed? Yes, I'm aware of Snapchat, but it keeps your messages stored for a while and it only alerts people if someone takes a screenshot of your secret content, instead of disabling it altogether! That's useless as most people know screenshots are easy to do- especially on an iPhone. So how about something better? That's what I asked myself and then told a techie friend of mine I'll buy him Starbucks if he can quickly find an app that satisfies my high standards for private messaging that disappears without a trace and of which you cannot take a screenshot.
Well, suffice to say is that my techie friend got a big ol' cup of Pike Place. Enter Cyberdust, an amazing app available for both Android and iOs. You can send text, high quality pictures with in-app editing options, and all of it gets deleted permanently 30 seconds after the recipient views it. It's stored nowhere, you cannot take a screenshot on Android, and in iOS you get a notification and the content gets dissociated from your name. So, no matter what, there is no way to prove it you actually sent it, no matter how much it seems you did. Snapchat is good for teens, but for us serious adults (no matter how young and cute we look, that's what we are) the only thing that works is an app that delivers and has real privacy safeguards in place. We need something that fully delivers on its promises and Cyberdust really does.
I don't get paid for recommending the app (maybe I should haha), so this is just me speaking for your own sake. Check it out at _
Dearest readers, whether you've been with me from the start or you started reading my blog later on, you may or may not have read all the posts back to the beginning. Now that my new blog is up after the mishap with the old one, I am putting practically all of my old entries in more or less chronological order into this entry for everyone to read and catch up. If you're interested, this is all the more important because I try my best not to repeat topics. This means that once I cover a particular topic, I move on. So, if you ever had a question or wanted to hear what I have to say on a topic and I covered it before you found out about my blog, now is your chance to easily look through my entire collection of entries and find the one you're looking for. I hope you'll read, reread and find what you like.
If you have a burning question and I haven't covered it, use my Contact page to ask me to write about it. If I can, I will and I'll let you know about it :)
*A few notes before you proceed:
-The blog entries are going from oldest to newest.
-Every link leads to a separate file hosted on Google Drive. You DO NOT need a Google account or anything else to view the blog posts.
-I have made the link font larger for the more popular entries with greater feedback, although all of them are a good read.
-Since all of these are backups and I'm also working on new posts, I haven't had a chance to check which of the posts are final proofread versions, and which ones have some errors in them. If you see the types of errors in any of the posts you normally don't expect from me, you'll know why that is; shouldn't be too many though ;)

Dearest, wonderful readers.
After the problem I ran into due to the incompetent blog setup that I blame solely on my old web hosting company, I had to take a step back and look for a new hosting service that would have the right balance between simple and sophisticated. Blogger was too childish, Wordpress was too advanced. I settled on giving Weebly a try and so far, so good.
Having said that, believe me when I tell you that this blog does mean a lot to me. I have been blogging since the second half of 2012. I have a following and of course, I'm grateful to all of my regular readers for sharing in the stories of my life and my mind's eye. However, more than that, I really feel that the blog keeps me sane, intellectually active to a degree, and it helps me connect with others. When you work hard and you're in touch with people, you end up sharing stories. When you're in the spotlight as I have been for some time now, you get asked a lot of questions as well that are easy to answer, but difficult to answer well. This is why I feel that, with each blog entry, I'm creating a conversation because I'm answering questions that people have asked me over time, and I haven't always had the luxury of answering right that moment, or answering as well as I wanted.
That is why I truly put effort into what I type. Sometimes, my tone is more formal. Other times, I'm casual. Other times still, I'm very naughty. But, overall, I understand that due to who I am and what I am, my blog and all my words in it have a clear purpose and a role in who I am, what I do, and what people want to find out and attempt to understand, accept and appreciate.
I will put most of my entries back up on my new blog. My plan is to create a single blog entry with titles of the old blog entries that you can click on access the articles. I'll try to arrange them by posting date. It'll be interesting both for myself and all of you to see the collection of my previous blog posts and the variety of their topics all on one page.
Now comes the promise part. I think we both know what'll make things right for leaving everyone hanging, waiting for days until I fix the blog. More frequent blog posts, same topic variety, same content quality and an invitation to you to read and comment.
Enjoying the finer things in life while creating the finer experiences in life.
