Believe it or not, you will be able to use this gadget to increase confidence, relax in situations that used to cause lots of stress to you before, and consequently become more relaxed and confident in your dating life as well.
The device in question is Fitbit Charge HR, coming to us hopefully by early 2015. It is an activity tracker that looks a lot like Fitbit Force- a device that was recalled massively due to some people getting allergic reactions from its wristband. Now, it’s made of different material, still has a screen so you can see your stats, the time and who’s calling you (after connecting it to your smartphone). In addition, the device now knows automatically when you’re going to sleep so it will accately analyze your sleep quality without additional manual setup. Finally, and this is the most important part, it has a built-in heart rate monitor! How amazing is that! :)
It is precisely the fast, easy to use heart rate monitor feature on the wristband that, if used correctly, will give you the benefits I mentioned in the beginning. Imagine a scenario where a man has a great personality, a great job, knows how to talk as well as listen, but has trouble dating due to losing his calm and getting overly stressed when talking to women- whether it’s the first approach, the first phone call, or the first date (or all three). He knows he’s a catch and all the women he knows tell him that, but feeling the way he does he’s unable to project a calm, confident and take charge persona; he’s also unable to think clearly and gets almost tunnel vision.
The way that Fitbit Charge HR can help is if a man uses it as a BIOFEEDBACK device. These devices have been around for many years, but never in such a cheap, convenient and additional features format. Biofeedback is done by monitoring your heart rate right before or during stressful situations. You watch your heart rate go up, or in some cases even hear a beeping sound pattern that becomes faster and faster. You use this immediate feedback to apply different techniques to calm down and focus until your device shows your heart rate is back to normal. It is the audio and/or visual cues that make this exercise effective because they show how much and how fast stress is affecting you, as well as how much you need to apply a calm down technique to get back to normal. The idea is that, after applying this method of dealing with stress for a reasonable amount of time, you will no longer react the same way in the stressful situations. You keep your heart rate down, your breathing is normal and your brain has enough oxygen to do what it needs to do, which in the case of our man in question is to woo the girl :)
If you choose to pick up Fitbit Charge HR or a similar device in the near future, it may become a good friend- one that says you need to calm down, you can do it, you got what it takes ;)
P.S. I have used the Fitbit Flex for almost a year now and will be picking up the Charge HR when it comes out :)
