Come on, you know you want to. ;)
End of year holidays, including Xmas and New Year’s Eve, make you think about anything but sex. I talked about this with a few friends, and all of them agree that if they think about sex a lot during the holidays, it feels kinda wrong, selfish and maybe a little dirty. I mean, instead of caroling and roasting chestnuts on an open fire, you feel like you want to get down and dirty right next to that fire and, somehow, it makes you feel bad. Also, if you don’t already have someone in your life and you want to go look for a new partner during the holiday time, chances are slim you’ll find a good one because most people get caught up with the holiday spirit and run around doing anything and everything except for dreaming about sex. Tragic, ain’t it? Especially when you want some… ;)
Well then, shake off the feelings of guilt, and no you’re not selfish. Think about it. Everything that Xmas holidays stand for is covered and plenty throughout the entire year. You have your birthday to get gifts and celebrate life as well as reflect on the past. You have other people’s birthdays to do the same for them. You have Thanksgiving when families and close friends get together. You have so many religious holidays throughout the year for every religion that are equally important. You have Valentine’s, sure, but it seems only very new or very long-term couples celebrate those. Everyone else just breaks up around Valentine’s, so I think most people spend it alone without a partner. So, technically, even the one day in the entire year that’s supposed to celebrate love and encourage sex is not the perfect time for either of those, for most people.
So then, it seems to me that the Xmas holiday season is basically a compressed version of EVERYTHING you do throughout the year for ALL THE OTHER HOLIDAYS. Put simply, it’s already been done. So if you’ve already spent the entire year doing right by the holidays and by everyone and everything except your own sexual self, now is the time to do something different. Make your holiday plans simple enough so you can spend the most of your time going after sex if that’s what you really want. If you’re successful, by the time the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, you’ll have a really big smile on your face knowing that everything you did this year has led you to some well-deserved end of the year debauchery. ;)
